Ingredients

New Maldon Sea Salt Flakes packaging green SEA SALT FLAKES 250g

4 turnips, peeled and cut into chip-like size (around 2-inches long)

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

Pinch of Maldon Salt

To serve:

Sour Cream

A handful of chives, chopped

Preparation

You’re really missing out if you haven’t had a go at making these beautifully crispy Turnip Chips, which make a great alternative to the classic potato chip. Not only perfect for a low-carb diet, the turnips when baked give a gorgeous, sweet and nutty flavour, with a texture almost like velvet in the middle, yet crispy on the outer.

These turnip chips can be enjoyed on their own with a dipping sauce, or can be paired perfectly well with our Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder recipe to soak up all the juices!

  1. Preheat the oven to 200ºC. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Toss the turnips with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, Maldon Salt and pepper.
  3. Place in one layer on the baking sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes, turning them over after 10 minutes until they are nice and crispy.
  4. Mix your sour cream with the chives and season with Maldon Salt and pepper.
